SteatoTest

The SteatoTest measures hepatic steatosis (triglyceride deposits in the liver)in patients with chronic hepatitis C or B, alcoholic liver disease and metabolic steatosis (overweight, diabetes, hyperlipidemia).

The SteatoTest is calculated using an original combination of nine higly concentrated biochemical markers, which are easy to assess. The SteatoTest offers a non invasive alternative for measuring hepatic steatosis (triglyceride deposits in the liver) in  patients with chronic hepatitis C or B, alcoholic liver disease and metabolic steatosis (overweight, diabetes, hyperlipidemia).

The SteatoTest combines alpha2-macroglobulin, haptoglobin, apolipoprotein A1, total bilirubin, GGT, fasting glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol and ALT, parameters adjusted for patient’s age, gender, weight and height.

Results report

Here is an example of a result report sheet (PDF Format) :

For each test, the results are both available as a web page or a PDF file.

About the result report

Each test result is given using two columns :

  • The left column presents the sample result
  • The right column presents a severity scale:
    • Lower third “green zone”: no or minimal lesions
    • Intermediary third  “orange zone”: moderate lesions
    • Upper third “red zone”: severe lesions
Steatosis severity is expressed by a 4 stage score:

  • S0 : No steatosis
  • S1: Minimal steatosis, less than 5 % of hepatocytes with steatosis
  • S2: Moderate steatosis, between 6 to 32 % of hepatocytes with steatosis
  • S3-S4: Severe steatosis, between 33 to 100 % of hepatocytes with steatosis
